Built on experience, not theory.

Project Safety Solutions enables organisations to strengthen operational performance, improve asset reliability and embed governance systems that withstand regulatory and operational scrutiny, recognising that performance, risk and safety are interconnected parts of the same challenge.

PSS is led by founder and director Stewart Wallace, whose career began in mining maintenance and operations before progressing into leadership and advisory roles across mining, tunnelling, energy, water infrastructure and major construction projects in Australia and overseas.

More than 25 years working alongside operators, supervisors, managers and executive teams has shaped a practical approach to performance, risk and governance — one grounded in the realities of how work is planned, executed and sustained in the field.

PSS remains an independent business, engaging specialist associates where required while maintaining a single point of accountability for every engagement. Clients work directly with Stewart, bringing practical experience, honest advice and solutions that reflect the operation in front of them rather than a standard consulting template.

I’ve spent my career working alongside the people who keep operations running. The best outcomes come from practical solutions, strong leadership and a genuine understanding of how work gets done in the field.

Turning strategy into practical outcomes.

Every organisation is different, but the principles of sustainable improvement remain the same. Our approach combines independent advice, practical consultation and organisational capability-building to create improvements that are understood, embedded and sustained long after the engagement is complete.

01

Listen & understand

Good advice starts with listening, but it also requires honest conversations. We work to understand the organisation, diagnose the real issues and provide independent advice that reflects operational reality — not simply validate existing thinking.

02

Design & architect

Good systems are not developed in isolation. Through consultation, challenge and stakeholder engagement, we architect practical frameworks and improvement pathways that can be owned, understood and sustained across the organisation.

03

Enable & embed

Embedding improvement requires more than implementation alone. Through leadership engagement, capability development and practical ownership, change becomes understood, adopted and sustained across the organisation.

04

Verify & assure

Independent verification provides confidence that improvements are effective, sustainable and aligned with organisational objectives. Through assurance activities, governance reviews and practical validation, we confirm that systems and processes perform as intended and stand up to scrutiny.

05

Sustain & improve

Embedding a culture of continual improvement through leadership, governance and organisational capability, ensuring improvements are maintained and evolve as the business grows.

The principles that guide every engagement.

Practical
Systems, processes and governance arrangements designed around operational reality and the people responsible for delivering them.
Independent
Independent advice that challenges assumptions, provides honest insights and remains free from certification or product interests.
Collaborative
Built through meaningful consultation and stakeholder engagement, creating ownership that extends across the organisation.
Sustainable
Improvements should endure beyond the engagement, strengthening organisational capability and supporting continual improvement over time.

The values that define who we are and how we work.

Integrity
We provide honest advice, challenge assumptions where necessary and remain accountable for the work we undertake. Trust is earned through independence, transparency and doing what we say we will do.
Courage
We are prepared to ask difficult questions, challenge established thinking and have honest conversations when it is in the best interests of the organisation and its people.
Humility
No two organisations are the same. We listen first, seek to understand and remain open to different perspectives, recognising that the people closest to the work often hold valuable insights.
Practicality
We believe experience matters. Systems, processes and improvements should reflect operational reality and be understood, adopted and sustained by those responsible for delivering them.
Commitment
We take ownership of our work, stand behind our advice and remain committed to creating outcomes that strengthen organisations over the long term.

Every engagement starts with a conversation.

Understanding the organisation, its people and its challenges is the first step towards meaningful and sustainable improvement.
